EMISSION CONTROL / NOX REDUCTION

One of the main objectives that is currently being addressed throughout all industrial processes, in particular, thermal power stations, is the control of emissions into the atmosphere by reducing NOx levels, which in turn, requires an increase in plant efficiency. This requires a monitoring process in which, together with other factors, the measurement of the primary parameters is essential.

APLEIN INGENIEROS S.A., can provide primary measurement systems for achieving this very objective. Among these parameters are the following:

- The measurement of the coal mass flow rate in the mill piping up to the burners.

- The measurement of the volumetric flow rate in the secondary air piping.

- The measurement of the unburned content in fly ash, located in the precipitation hoppers.

The use of these new technologies will permit boiler efficiency optimisation through the use of correct coal flow rates, reducing atmospheric emissions and fuel losses.

In addition, the continuous measurement of these parameters will provide the operator with more detailed information about the plant’s operating performance.
