APLEIN INGENIEROS, S.A. OPERATIONS. AUTOPISTA CENTRAL DE CHILE TRAFFIC OPERATIONS CENTRE Autopista Central de Chile is a service company that provides its customers with a higher speed urban highway, with high safety and quality standards via its north-south and General Velásquez axes. This motorway includes a Traffic Operations Centre that is in service twenty-four hours a day, 365 days a year and is the nerve centre for the motorway, with a constant stream of information from the cameras that monitor the motorway safety conditions. In collaboration with the company SICE, APLEIN INGENIEROS,S.A. designed and supplied the display system for the Traffic Operations System. We interviewed Mr Gustavo Divin (Traffic Systems maintenance Department Manager) from AUTOPISTA CENTRAL DE CHILE. What is the main purpose of AUTOPISTA CENTRAL DE CHILE? Autopista Central is one of the most significant urban concessions in Santiago de Chile and is recognised for its advanced technology employed in the toll and traffic systems, with clear orientation towards customer satisfaction and care of the environment. Have the control, supervision and vigilance operation applications been integrated into the large screen display system? The main application of the large screen is to display images from the CCTV cameras that are installed along the entire motorway route. In certain cases, a complete video image is projected on the full extension of the large screen in order to provide better detail of a specific highway incident. In addition, a diagrammatic map of the motorway is displayed at certain times in order to show traffic variable status changes. ¿What made you decide on the video projection solution provided by APLEIN INGENIEROS, S.A.? The advantage of video projection is the enhanced image resolution and definition for video and data signals. It is a good complement to the smaller screens that are found at the Traffic Operations Centre work stations. Do you think that it would be a good idea to install screens employing the same technology at other control rooms where the required needs and operations are for twenty-four hours per day 365 days a year? In effect, this technology is a good option for control centres that intend to operate continuously twenty-four hours per day 365 days a year. More news |
