PROJECTS OF APLEIN INGENIEROS, S.A. SURURBAN INFORMATION CENTRE (C.I.C) and CRISIS ROOM OF RENFE CERCANÍAS.


APLEIN INGENIEROS, S.A. has refurbished the Suburban Information Centre (C.I.C – Centro de Información de Cercanías) and the crisis room of RENFE Cercanías located in the heart of Madrid (Atocha).

We interviewed Roberto Hernando, Suburban Management Head of Facilities in Madrid.

What purpose does the suburban information centre serve?

As its name indicates, the aim is to give the fullest information possible to passengers using the regular service about scheduled services, as well as alternative services in the event of any occurrence in the regular service.

To supply this type of information, the CIC is manned with personnel during the period that the suburban service is operational. Their work is to administer all the resources necessary to run the Madrid suburban rail service with the backing of the equipment and facilities with which this control centre is equipped.

What is the immediate benefit for the suburban business line “UNE CERCANÍAS”?

The simultaneous viewing of different applications on the same panel, display of the Centralised Traffic Control (C.T.C.) in the Madrid Suburban Office, CCTV cameras installed in stations of the Office and other applications.



What improvements has the new design in the functionality of the Centre signified?

In addition to its modernization, thanks to the multi-functionality of the new panel, it is possible to visualize any application of those that are used in the CIC to manage the resources necessary and be able to provide a Suburban Service of the quality required.
