METERS
FOR FISCAL METERING AND SUBMEASUREMENT
The Law 54/1997, of November 27, concerning the Electricity
Sector, has established mechanisms for competition in its operation, whose
fulfillment required the implementation of a homogeneous and effective system
for metering the energy transfers between the various electrical activities.
In developing the law's regulations, the following classification of the
measurement points has been established, as well as the precision requirements
necessary for the meters.
METERING EQUIPMENTS
A first classification of the energy meters can be carried out according
to their application: fiscal metering and sub-metering. APLEIN INGENIEROS,
S.A. has suitable equipment for both purposes.
Equipment for fiscal metering: MK 6S
The equipment dedicated to fiscal metering has to comply with the requirements
laid down by the legislation in force with regard to the characteristics
of the meter and the communications protocols.
MK 6S - Features
* Accuracy: class 0.2S – 0.5S - 1
Appropriate for use in measurement points type 1, 2 & 3
* 4-quadrant measurements
* 255 load profiles
* Readings: power factor, energy, frequency, power, instantaneous values
of voltage and current.
* Tariffication (TOU) : Up to 8 rates per channel / 5 simultaneous
* Screen display with 4 lines of text
* Pulse inputs and outputs
* MODBUS and IEC 870-5-102 communication, REE spec.
Submetering equipment or industrial meters: MK 10
This equipment is appropriate for installation in an energy management
system.
The objectives of an energy management system are the reduction of costs
and the analytic consumption management. The following essential functions
must be provided:
* Measurement of electrical magnitudes
* Measurement of power and active and reactive energy
* Historical records of consumption, thresholds exceeded, values reached
* Critical magnitudes: power factor, harmonics
* Detection of events outside the regulations: voltage surges, overcurrents,
etc.
An energy management system consists of meters connected to a local industrial
network which is used to transmit information to a database where it will
be analysed to permit decisions to be taken.
