01/06/2006 RENFE CERCANÍAS REPORT In the Latest News section of issue nº 490 of the magazine VIA LIBRE, published by the SPANISH RAILROAD FOUNDATION, a report was included on the Information and Control Center (ICC) and the Suburban Management Crisis Room of RENFE. Both are located in the heart of Madrid, in Atocha station, and were recently remodeled. We draw attention to some comments from this report: This refurbishment carried out by APLEIN INGENIEROS, S.A. using the most modern technologies, has allowed control and safety of the lines to be enhanced, since the new center allows operation with all the suburban trains of Madrid, as well as a complete visualization of the state of train traffic at a given point and a complete view to be obtained on closed circuit television through the cameras mounted in each station. The new system delivers enhanced safety both for the rail traffic and the control of passengers transiting RENFE facilities. All the information can be located on the new display panel without needing to have external closed circuit monitors. More News |
